Tully Smith

Tully Smith is a Melbourne-based company director and strategist, known for helping organisations navigate transformation and remain deeply relevant in a rapidly shifting world. A founder, board member and advisor across the advisory, government relations and global trade sectors, he is widely respected for his ability to align systems, strategy and people to unlock long-term value.

Tully is the Founder and Managing Director of Smith Strategic, an advisory and investment firm working with businesses at the intersection of transformation, trust and performance. The firm operates across three divisions, Advisory, Partnerships and Investments, with reach across Australia, India, the USA, China, Canada and Poland.

With a background that spans corporate affairs, strategy and international affairs, Tully has held senior positions across government, sport and the private sector, including with ASX top 10-listed companies like Telstra. His expertise in reputation and influence has earned him global recognition, having been twice named to the Ipsos Global Reputation Council, a forum of the world's most influential communicators. Fewer than a handful of Australians have been selected for this honour.

Tully's commercial work is grounded in real-world experience. Raised in regional Victoria just outside Ballarat in a close-knit potato-growing and livestock-farming community, he brings the values of loyalty, hard work and a fair go into every boardroom he enters.

A trusted bridge between the private sector, government and global markets, Tully has served as CEO of the Australia India Chamber of Commerce (AICC) and as General Manager of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia (AmCham). These roles placed him at the forefront of international economic engagement, convening senior leaders from across business, politics and diplomacy to drive trade, innovation and strategic cooperation.

Beyond the boardroom, Tully is a passionate contributor to community life. He holds multiple board-level roles in the not-for-profit sector, including as Chairman of the Wyndham Health Foundation and Advisory Board Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia, where he is a proud supporter of youth mentoring across the country. His contributions have been recognised with the Prime Minister of Australia's Award for Service to the Community.

Tully lives in Melbourne's west with his wife, Agnieszka, their two adopted Siberian Huskies, Lara and Ari, and their large, charming hound, Freddie.
